ESEPARC researchers are currently participating in a five-day training programme focused on strengthening practical competence in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for results-based programming and research.
The training is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of core M&E concepts, frameworks, and tools that support effective planning, implementation, and learning. Key areas covered include results and logical frameworks, theory of change development, indicator formulation and measurement, data collection methods, data quality assurance, as well as analysis and reporting.
A strong emphasis is placed on how M&E systems are designed and operationalised across the full project cycle, from project planning and implementation through to review, reflection, and learning. Participants are also engaging with practical approaches for using monitoring data and evaluation findings to support evidence-based decision-making, accountability, and adaptive management.
Through hands-on exercises, group work, and applied case examples, researchers are building the skills required to design robust M&E systems, track progress against objectives, assess outcomes and impacts, and translate evidence into clear, actionable insights. These competencies are critical for informing policy, strengthening programmes, and supporting institutional learning.
This training forms part of ESEPARC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening internal research capacity and ensuring that evidence generated through its work is credible, relevant, and effectively used to inform decision-making.
