Day two of the stakeholder engagement on the National Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolution (4IR & 5IR) Strategy and the review of the National Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy continued with constructive dialogue among participants.
The day began with an informative recap on the STI Policy discussions from the previous day, during which stakeholder groups that had been formed to review different sections of the policy presented the outcomes of their deliberations. These presentations provided valuable insights into the opportunities, challenges, and policy adjustments required to strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem.
Following the recap, the programme moved to the main agenda item of the day, discussions on the development of the National 4IR & 5IR Strategy. Stakeholders explored key priorities and practical interventions required for Eswatini to effectively harness emerging technologies and position itself within the rapidly evolving global digital economy.
The sessions were structured to encourage active stakeholder participation and ownership of the process. Participants examined potential pathways for integrating advanced technologies, strengthening digital skills, and fostering innovation across sectors in ways that are practical, scalable, and responsive to national development priorities.
Through these engagements, stakeholders are contributing to shaping a forward-looking strategy that seeks to ensure that Eswatini is well positioned to leverage the opportunities presented by the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions.
