Tengetile Gcinile Hlophe

Research Fellow

Tengetile Gcinile Hlophe is a Research Fellow at the Eswatini Economic Policy Analysis and Research Centre (ESEPARC). Her work focuses on science, technology, and innovation (STI) policy and research.

She joined ESEPARC as a graduate intern through the ESEPARC/UNDP Graduate Research Programme. Before joining ESEPARC, she was an intern at the Coordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organisations (CANGO) in Eswatini where she worked as a policy analyst. She has also worked with the Public Policy Coordination Unit under the Prime Minister’s office, where she developed her desire to pursue economic and social policy research. Tengetile has since been focusing more on how to leverage science, technology, and innovation for sustainable development. She is also interested in gender and youth development issues and is a member of The Youth Hub, and assists in an organisation that empowers women in leadershsip.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Eswatini and a Master of Science in Public Policy and Governance from Africa University in Zimbabwe.

Tengetile has also had the honour of obtaining the first prize for her research work at the inaugural Eswatini Economic Conference 2017.
