Simphiwe Mavuso

Data Associate

Simphiwe Mavuso is a Data Associate at the Eswatini Economic Policy Analysis and Research Centre (ESEPARC). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from the University of Eswatini, majoring in Statistics and Economics.

He joined ESEPARC through the Graduate Intern Programme and has since served as a Research Assistant before taking on his current role. Simphiwe has contributed to several research initiatives, including national-level projects such as the FinScope MSME Survey, the Cryptoassets Consumer Survey, and the National Labour Market Skills Project (NLMSP). His work focuses on developing and managing digital survey tools, data management, and data analysis using STATA, SPSS, and R.

His academic background in corporate finance and international trade has broadened his understanding of financial and external sector data. Over time, he has developed a sustained interest in predictive analysis, particularly in the application of machine learning and deep learning techniques to enhance the research process.
