Tamika Du-Pont
Graduate Research Intern
Tamika Du-Pont is a Graduate Research Intern at the Eswatini Economic Analysis and Research Centre (ESEPARC). Her research focus is centred around nature reserves that claim to integrate community-based tourism in Eswatini. While at ESEPARC, she will be working on a study on community-based tourism in Eswatini, with a particular focus on possible pathways to sustainable conservation management.
Tamika’s interest is in the social aspects of the environment. She wishes to make an impact on how developing countries view the environment and hopes to use her knowledge and experience to become a professional environmental assessment practitioner in future. While studying, Tamika worked in the house committee of her university residence as the sports representative. She also took part in different volunteer programmes, including the eco-schools programme where she worked with learners from a disadvantaged school. Tamika has an Honours in Environmental Science and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science and Legal Theory, both completed at Rhodes University.
